The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has advertised for firms interested in developing and managing balloon tourism in the Lake Mburo National Park.
In addition, Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna to other reserves. Lying in the one part of Uganda covered in extensive acacia woodland, Lake Mburo is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. uganda safaris

Balloon Safari is a fashionable safari. Gliding serenely above the trees offers unparalleled panoramic balloon views of the awe-inspiring landscape. The unique perspective gives a much truer and mind blowing sense of the huge expanses of bush. The feeling is indescribable, watching the plains teeming with herds of wildlife.

Tourism is the fastest global economic growth sector as well as the largest employer of any single economic sector. Tourism in Uganda plays a primary role, not only in generating foreign exchange (a trend which has overtaken the reliance on coffee and other cash crops) but also in becoming a high-end employer and investment generator. An increased investment in tourism – especially in travel, accommodation and related facilities – is enhancing the experience of most travelers.
According to the board, tourism is the fastest-growing sector in Uganda and more than half a million arrivals in 2007 injected 375 million dollars (255 million Euros) into the economy.
Uganda is a popular tourist destination thanks to its Mountain gorillas, chimpanzee sanctuaries , uganda safari packages and waterfalls.
In a wider context tourism has been recognised to act as a linkage between development, conservation and the community at the grassroot level and hence make the development process more responsible to those it intends to serve. Policies have been introduced to make local populations more responsible for the natural environment. The link in the relationship between conservation, conserved areas and their future is proclaimed to be tourism.

The multi-dimensional benefits of tourism range from direct employment, retail outlets for different local commodities/products, to increased foreign exchange earnings and revenue collection.
All participants in the tourism industry welcome the development of tourism, and many have suggestions of ways to increase the number of visitors and improve the tourism product. These are concerned with infrastructure improvements, conservation and protection of our cultural heritage.gorilla safari rwanda
There are of course serious limitations to the tourism industry. Uganda is rich in attractions which include nature wildlife, forests, cultural heritage, historical attractions and the people, but most of them are not developed to the point where marketing of products would be undertaken.
There are still untapped opportunities awaiting development in tourism. We need to identify and develop new tourism products and exploiting for greater value Uganda’s resources while at the same time ensuring sustainability of such products and conservation of the environment.

Uganda safari Adventure tourism, ecotourism and cultural tourism should be developed in conjunction with the overall shaping up of the industry.
We should realise that conservation, tourism development and community empowerment must be consider for survival of tourism in Uganda. For conservation to be sustainable tourism must be developed, and for it to be sustainable, the local communities must be part of its development. Tourism should be brought nearer to the people to help correcting the wrong perception that it is a foreign activity.
